What are you planning to do around 3 pm today?

Wait in line at Sbucks?
Hang on Gchat to pass the time?
Do a little online shopping, perhaps?

More importantly, how do you plan to feel?

Will you be wide awake, ready to par-tay?

Or struggling to keep your eyes open, counting down the minutes til’ you can go home and crash?

If you’re anything like me, 3 pm is a critical time.

Before I got on my health kick, whether on a train or mid conversation, my body would go into shut down mode. That afternoon slump was seriously kicking my butt.

Now?
The time of day I used to suffer most has become sacred.

And yes, I can partly thank chocolate for that (what can’t I thank chocolate for…?)

Try this: next time you feel that serious drop in energy mid afternoon, don’t deny it or fall for a quick fix of caffeine and sugar (or gchat and online shopping, for that matter) …

Whether at your desk or hanging at home, take a 10 minute time out.

Dig into your collection of herbal teas (something super special like this) and your homemade stash of chocolate snacks (such as… the recipe below). Make it an afternoon to remember.

Mayan Chocolate Energy Balls

Process:

2 cups almonds

1 cup cacao powder

2 cups medjool dates

1 tbsp water

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

1/2 tsp nutmeg

Roll into balls and refrigerate.

Pretty darn simple, no?

Give it a go and oh, don’t forget one of my favorite bits of advice… eat. as. many. as. you. want.

Last, but far from least, before I head out for the weekend, I invite you to join me for a {free} 10-day challenge starting this Sunday.

For 10 days my business partner, Ashley, and I will challenge you to take one simple action step per day… to get you closer to the body, the mind, the life of your dreams.

Ready to feel something more this spring? Sign up here.

Starting this Sunday, to the kitchen and beyond.
